Hyderabad.01.08.2024: Tension arose in Hayathnagar after a young woman, Divya, was found dead in her home under suspicious circumstances. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Banjara Colony, leaving the local community in shock.
Divya, 21, originally from Yacharam in Ibrahimpatnam, was married to Ramavath Shiva, 23, an auto driver. The couple had a six-month-old daughter and lived in a rented house in Hayathnagar. According to the police, Divya allegedly took her own life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan. Authorities were alerted and promptly shifted her body to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The police have registered a case and detained Shiva for questioning after Divya’s family members claimed that her death was not a suicide but a murder. These allegations sparked further unrest.
On Wednesday morning, Divya’s relatives gathered in Hayathnagar, demanding the police change the case from a suspicious death to a murder investigation. In a show of protest, they sat on the road near the police station.
During the protest, some individuals entered the Hayathnagar police station and attempted to attack Shiva. In the ensuing chaos, a few police officers inside the station were reportedly injured. To control the situation, the police had to use mild force to disperse the crowd.
Additional police forces were deployed to secure the area and maintain order, as tensions remained high in this part of Hyderabad.
