Manchester.10.07.2025: The Indian women’s cricket team has created history by winning their first-ever T20 series against England. India secured a 3-1 lead in the five-match T20 series with one match remaining.

In the fourth T20 match, India defeated England by 6 wickets. England batted first and scored 126 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Sophia Dunkley was the top scorer for England with 22 runs. Among the Indian bowlers, Radha Yadav and Sri Charani took 2 wickets each, while Amanjot Kaur and Deepti Sharma took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 127 runs, the Indian team achieved victory in 17 overs, losing just 4 wickets. Smriti Mandhana scored 32 runs, Shafali Verma made 31, Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 26 runs, and Jemimah Rodrigues remained unbeaten with 24 runs.
India had won the first two matches, lost the third, and came back strongly in the fourth to seal the series. The final match of the series will be played at Edgbaston on the 12th of this month.
This is a special moment for Indian women’s cricket. Until now, India and England had played six bilateral T20 series, with England winning all of them. India had earlier won only one T20 match against England, which was back in 2006 at Derby. This historic series win marks a new chapter for Indian women’s cricket.
