Hyderabad, April 22, 2025 : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued the first heat wave warning for summer 2025.

The warning is specifically for the districts of Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem, Nirmal, and Mancherial in Telangana. An orange alert has also been issued for these areas due to the expected severe heat. For the rest of the state, a yellow alert is in effect.
Adilabad recorded the highest temperature in the state on Sunday at 44°C.
Weather expert T Balaji, known for his accurate forecasts, warned that the next three days will be extremely hot in North Telangana. Temperatures may even reach 45°C in some places. He also predicted scattered thunderstorms in southern and eastern Telangana, including parts of Hyderabad.
In Hyderabad, the IMD has not issued a heat wave alert yet, but has forecast partly cloudy skies until April 25. However, temperatures in the city could still rise up to 44°C by Friday. On Monday, the Musheerabad area recorded the highest in the city at 41.6°C.
Residents are advised to take precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid going out during peak heat hours.
