Hyderabad,March,03,2026: Miyapur suicide case reported after a 23-year-old staff nurse was found dead in her hostel room in Miyapur Maktha on Monday night.
The woman, identified as Meghavath Soni Bai from Narayankhed village in Medak district, was working at First Health Labs and staying in a PG hostel in Reddy Enclave.
According to police, Soni Bai had been working at First Health Clinic for the past one year. On Monday, she did not report to duty and remained in her hostel room while her roommates left for work.
When her friends returned around 10 pm, they found the door locked from inside. Despite repeated calls, there was no response.
The hostel management and her friends looked through a window and saw her hanging from the ceiling with a scarf. They broke open the door and brought her down before informing Miyapur police.
She was immediately shifted to a hospital. Doctors confirmed that she had died before being brought in.
The body was later shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police said that she was reportedly in a relationship with a youth from her native village. It is suspected that recent disputes between them may have caused mental distress.
Based on a complaint filed by her family members, a case has been registered. Miyapur police said an investigation is underway.
Officials stated that further details will be known after the post-mortem report and investigation.
The Miyapur suicide incident has drawn attention to the circumstances leading to the death. Police are verifying all aspects related to the case.
