Government Schools: A New Vision

Revanth Reddy addressed the lingering misconception that private institutions produce more talented students. He emphasized that many prominent figures, including IAS and IPS officers like B. Venkatesham and M. Mahendar Reddy, are alumni of residential schools.

  • Enhanced Diet and Cosmetic Allowances: Diet charges were increased by 40%, and cosmetic allowances by 200%, ensuring better care for students.
  • Uniform Stitching Costs: Fees for stitching school uniforms were raised from ₹25 to ₹75, with the work entrusted to women’s self-help groups.
  • Free Electricity: All government schools now benefit from free electricity.

Skill Development at the Forefront

Revanth Reddy revealed the government’s collaboration with Tata Company to upgrade 75 ITIs into Advanced Technology Centers. Additionally, the Young India Skills University has been established to provide specialized training for unemployed youth, with plans for a Young India Sports University and a sports academy aimed at achieving Olympic glory by 2028.

“Spending on education is not an expense but an investment for future generations,” said the Chief Minister.

Holistic Student Welfare

Acknowledging recent challenges, including a tragic case of food poisoning, Reddy stressed the need for strict oversight in residential schools. Measures include the formation of student mess management committees to monitor daily food quality.

Encouraging Talent Beyond Academics

The government is focusing on promoting sports and extracurricular talents among students. With inspiration from achievers like World Boxing Champion Nikhat Zareen and cricketer Mohammed Siraz, the Chief Minister urged teachers to encourage students in diverse fields.

Young India Integrated Residential Schools

The government is setting up Young India Integrated Residential Schools in every assembly constituency to provide quality education on par with corporate institutions. These schools will focus on both academics and holistic development.

Conclusion

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s vision for Telangana’s education system underscores his dedication to equality, empowerment, and excellence. With initiatives spanning better facilities, skill development, and talent promotion, the state is poised to create a robust education framework for future generations.
