Hyderabad.08.02.2026: The Telangana government is likely to deposit Rythu Bharosa financial aid into the bank accounts of over 70 lakh farmers very soon.

The release of funds was delayed this season because the government had not completed a survey to find out the exact area of land under cultivation. Now that the survey is complete, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has said that the money will be credited after the urban local body elections.

Polling for municipal elections will take place on February 11, and the results will be announced on February 13. Once the election process ends, the government plans to immediately release the funds.

To arrange the required money, the State government has decided to raise ₹9,000 crore through market borrowings. An official request (indent) has already been submitted to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to raise this amount in an auction scheduled for Tuesday.

The borrowings will be done as follows:

  • ₹2,000 crore for 16 years

  • ₹2,500 crore for 21 years

  • ₹2,500 crore for 27 years

This is one of the largest borrowings by the State in recent years.

The Centre has allowed Telangana to raise up to ₹71,400 crore this financial year, which is ₹17,000 crore more than earlier permission. This additional borrowing was approved after the State replaced high-interest loans (around 11%) with lower-interest loans (around 7%), helping reduce financial burden.
