Hyderabad, Feb 1, 2026 — Former Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was questioned for nearly five hours by the Telangana Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Sunday in connection with the alleged phone-tapping scandal during his party’s rule in the state.
The interrogation took place at KCR’s Nandi Nagar residence in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, beginning around 3 p.m. and continuing into the evening. SIT officials, in a tightly secured environment with barricades and heavy police deployment, probed Rao on aspects of the phone-tapping probe that has been under investigation since 2024.

Ahead of the questioning, KCR traveled from his farmhouse in Erravalli, Siddipet district, about 70 km from Hyderabad, to his city residence despite earlier disagreements with investigators about the venue.
