MLAs Dr. Tellam Venkat Rao and Payam Venkateshwarlu, who attended the inauguration ceremony, emphasized the need for TRIFED to provide training and ensure the livelihood of Adivasis. They highlighted the quality of products made by Adivasi women and stressed the importance of securing profitable prices for these products. The officials encouraged the women to improve their living standards by marketing their goods effectively.

TRIFED’s Role and Support

TRIFED regional manager Srinivas Sanke mentioned that the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN), launched in 27 states in 2019-20, aims to train tribal women in making handloom, forest, and other products for their livelihood. Through Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, various tribes receive training and marketing support. For Telangana State, Rs 2.55 crore has been allocated for 6000 tribal families, and Rs 25 lakh for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).

Sanke assured that steps would be taken to ensure profitable prices for the products made by the tribals. These products will be sold in 120 showrooms across the country, and exhibitions will be organized at the international level to boost sales and visibility.

Efforts to Boost Tribal Livelihoods

Dr. Tellam Venkat Rao and Payam Venkateshwarlu emphasized the importance of such initiatives in improving the economic conditions of tribal communities. They urged TRIFED to continue its efforts in providing training and marketing support to tribal artisans.
