Telangana.21.10.2024: The much-anticipated Group 1 Mains exams are set to commence today in Telangana, sparking a wave of activity as officials prepare for the event. The exams, which have stirred controversy over possible postponement, are being held across 46 centers from October 21 to 27. In light of the situation, authorities, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, have implemented extensive measures, including imposing Section 144 to ensure a peaceful environment.
Despite demands to delay the exams, especially due to concerns regarding reservation rules and the JEO 29 directive, the government has remained firm. Over 31,000 candidates are expected to take part in the exams, which will be monitored closely using CCTV surveillance and biometric attendance.
Meanwhile, a Supreme Court hearing on the JEO 29 issue is scheduled for today, adding further tension to the proceedings. The government, however, has reiterated that the Group 1 Mains exams will go ahead as planned, with no changes to the schedule. Special transportation arrangements, including RTC buses, have been made for the candidates.
