Konda Surekha Urges AP Government to Address Telangana Devotees’ Issues in Tirumala
Hyderabad, 27.12.2024 : Telangana Endowments Minister Konda Surekha expressed confidence that the Andhra Pradesh government will take positive steps to resolve the issues faced by Telangana devotees visiting Tirumala. Speaking after her visit to the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam, she highlighted the need for a collaborative approach to address these challenges.
Telangana Devotees in Tirumala: Key Concerns
Konda Surekha emphasized the long-standing faith of Telangana devotees in Tirumala despite the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. She pointed out several pressing concerns:
- Difficulties in obtaining darshan tickets and accommodations.
- Lack of funding from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) for Telangana temples and kalyana mandapams, which were previously supported.
- The need for Andhra Pradesh’s proactive involvement in resolving these challenges.
The Minister noted that both Telugu states have formed a committee to tackle these issues, showcasing a positive development.
Strong Devotional Bonds
While addressing the media, Konda Surekha reiterated the unwavering devotion of Telangana people toward Srisailam Mallikarjuna Swamy and Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy. Sharing a personal anecdote, she said, “My daughter vowed to visit Lord Shiva after becoming a mother, and we came here as a family to fulfill that promise.”
She also prayed for the prosperity of both Telugu states, seeking blessings for farmers, economic growth, and the overall welfare of the people.
Call for Revival of TTD Support
Highlighting the revenue generated by Telangana devotees in Tirumala, Konda Surekha urged the Andhra Pradesh government to revive the financial support for Telangana’s temples and facilities. She called for funds to improve kalyana mandapams and other infrastructure, which play a crucial role in the spiritual lives of devotees.
