MeeSeva Centers in Telangana to Start Accepting New Ration Card Applications
Hyderabad,07.02.2025 : The Telangana government has instructed all MeeSeva centers to begin accepting applications for new Food Security (ration) cards. This decision follows the state cabinet’s approval on February 4 of new eligibility rules and procedures for issuing ration cards and adding family members to existing ones.

In a memo issued on February 6, the government also allowed applications to be submitted at Praja Palana Seva Kendras (PPSKs) across the state. The Commissioner of Civil Supplies has directed MeeSeva to ensure only eligible applicants receive ration cards and to prevent duplicate applications.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has been asked to connect the ration card database to MeeSeva centers for smoother processing. Currently, Telangana has 89.96 lakh ration cards, covering 281.70 lakh people. Of these, 35.51 lakh are state-issued cards, and 54.45 lakh are under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). Eligibility for ration cards depends on income, land ownership, and specific vulnerabilities.
