Tirupati.22.09.2024:Pawan Kalyan, the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has announced that he will begin an 11-day penance following allegations of adulteration in the famous Tirupati laddoos. The laddoos, which are distributed as prasadam at the Tirumala temple, are believed to have been contaminated with animal fats during the tenure of the previous YSRCP government.
Penance for Purification: Pawan Kalyan expressed deep sadness over the issue and stated that his penance is aimed at seeking divine blessings for ritualistic purification. He will perform the penance at the Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple in Namburu, Guntur district.
Political Outrage: The controversy erupted when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, claimed that substandard ingredients, including animal fats, had been used in the preparation of Tirupati laddoos during the YSRCP’s rule. This triggered outrage among devotees and led Pawan Kalyan to take this spiritual step.
Kalyan’s Statement: In a post on X, Pawan Kalyan shared his grief, stating, “I was heartbroken to learn about the alleged contamination of the laddoo prasadam. As someone fighting for the people, this news came as a shock.” He further added that his penance is an effort to atone for the sins of the previous government.
Call for Accountability: Pawan Kalyan also questioned the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board members and employees for their silence on the matter. He believes they should have spoken out about these irregularities.
The actor-politician intends to visit the Tirumala temple after his penance, seeking strength to carry out a purification ritual. The controversy surrounding the Tirupati laddoos has sparked a significant political debate, and Pawan Kalyan’s spiritual gesture is a response to this sensitive issue.
