Chandigarh, 20.06.2024 : On the 10th International Yoga Day. The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is set to make history by attempting a world record. This record will involve the highest number of healthcare professionals performing yoga simultaneously.
International Yoga Day Celebrations:
To mark the celebrations, various locations across the Union Territory (UT), including all government dispensaries, the high court, the district court, the Botanical Garden, Sarangpur, and approximately 100 other sites, will also participate.
PGIMER’s top officials, including the director and dean, will attend the event. In addition to the yoga session, the department of anaesthesia and intensive care will launch a geriatric low backache booklet for patients. A booklet on diabetic yoga protocol will also be introduced at the CCRYN yoga centre.
A new wing of the yoga centre will be inaugurated by the director of the National Institute of Nursing Education, PGIMER. In preparation for the big day, around 2,000 participants from the tricity gathered at the Rock Garden for rehearsals. This group included members of the ITBP, police defense forces, the Chandigarh Renewal Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society, and school children. UT Health Secretary Ajay Chagti supervised the arrangements.
International Yoga Day will see widespread participation from numerous locations in the UT, demonstrating a united effort to promote health and wellness through yoga.
