Hyderabad.09.07.2024: Ponnam Prabhakar, the State Transport and BC Welfare Minister, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing journalists’ concerns during a ceremony held by the Hyderabad Union of Journalists (HUJ). Minister Prabhakar, serving also as the In-charge Minister of Hyderabad, attended the Senior Urdu Journalist Faiz Mohammad Asghar Memorial Award Ceremony at the Suravaram Pratap Reddy Auditorium in Basheer Bagh. Alongside K. Srinivas Reddy and Ibrahimpatnam MLA Mal Reddy Rangareddy, he highlighted the government’s resolve to support media professionals in their critical role as a bridge between the administration and the public.
Addressing the gathering chaired by HUJ President Shiga Shankar Goud, Minister Prabhakar emphasized the Congress government’s dedication to resolving public issues, urging the media to continue its duty with sincerity. He assured that the concerns of journalists in Greater Hyderabad would be addressed promptly through a forthcoming meeting by HUJ. K. Srinivas Reddy of the Telangana Media Academy pledged to diligently implement the government’s commitments to journalists, promising swift action on accreditation, health cards, and housing issues. The ceremony also celebrated the accomplishments of veteran journalist Narender Reddy, who was honored with the Senior Urdu Journalist Faiz Mohammed Asghar Memorial Award for his outstanding contributions to journalism.
The event saw the presence of TWJ State President K. Virahat Ali, former IJ President Devulapalli Amar, and several other distinguished journalists and media representatives. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s participation underscored the government’s proactive stance in supporting the journalistic community and fostering a robust media environment in Telangana.
