Hyderabad.17.09.2024: The Telangana government, which recently waived loans up to Rs. 2 lakh for farmers, has shared more good news. A key announcement has been made regarding a bonus of Rs. 500 per quintal for farmers.
Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy revealed that a bonus of Rs. 500 per quintal would be given to farmers during this Kharif season. A Cabinet Sub-Committee, led by Minister Uttam, has been formed to establish guidelines for issuing new ration cards and health cards in the state. The sub-committee met on September 16 at the Secretariat to discuss these matters.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister Uttam confirmed the bonus for farmers. He also added that if they come to power after the assembly elections, they will provide a minimum support price for quintals along with the promised bonus. The Telangana government, which is fulfilling its election promises one by one, has now decided to implement the bonus for farmers.
However, many farmers have expressed frustration over the timing of the announcement by Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, as it seems to be linked with the upcoming elections.
