Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Hints at No Immediate Cabinet Expansion
Hyderabad.08.02.2025: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy suggested on Friday that his Cabinet will not be expanded soon. After meeting Congress party leaders in Delhi, including General Secretary K. C. Venugopal, Reddy stated that decisions about Cabinet additions or restructuring the state Congress committee (TPCC) would be made by the party’s central leadership, not him.

Revanth Reddy emphasized his focus on following the party’s directives and maintaining unity among leaders. He dismissed rumors about discord within the party, urging ministers and lawmakers to work together. While in Delhi, he also discussed plans to invite Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to public meetings in Telangana. These events aim to highlight the state’s recent caste survey and efforts to categorize Scheduled Castes as per Supreme Court guidelines.
Addressing questions about legal cases against opposition leaders, Reddy clarified that his government would act lawfully but had no immediate plans to arrest rivals. He also noted the caste survey’s findings, which showed a 5.5% increase in the Backward Classes population, and reiterated his stance that Muslim reservations would not be revived.
The Chief Minister’s visit to Delhi underscored his commitment to collaboration with central leaders while addressing internal party dynamics and governance priorities in Telangana.
