Hyderabad.15.10.2024: Telangana’s government has launched an online job portal for persons with disabilities, introduced by Minister of Women and Child Welfare, Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), on October 14, 2024.
Job Portal Overview
The portal, available at pwdjobportal.telangana.gov.in, helps match individuals with disabilities to jobs based on their qualifications. The Minister also handed appointment orders to 10 candidates who will work with the Directorate of Women’s Welfare helpline during the event.
Support for Persons with Disabilities
Minister Seethakka emphasized that the job portal is a step forward in overcoming barriers to employment for disabled individuals. “There are few opportunities, but this platform will help bridge the gap and make jobs more accessible,” she said.
Government Commitment
The government is working on ensuring a 4% job reservation in the private sector for persons with disabilities. Seethakka also announced a budget of ₹50 crore for providing essential equipment to those in need.
Key officials at the event included Secretary of the Women and Child Welfare Department Vakati Karuna, Disabled Cooperative Corporation Chairperson Veeraiah, and Joint Director of Disabled and Elderly Welfare, Shailaja.
This portal is seen as a positive step for improving the lives and careers of people with disabilities in Telangana.
