Hyderabad.16.09.2024: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the Telangana Thalli statue will be unveiled by December 9 this year. He questioned why the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government failed to install the statue during its time in power.
During the event where the statue of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was installed at the state Secretariat, CM Revanth Reddy praised the late leader. He credited Rajiv Gandhi for fulfilling Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of “village swaraj.”
The statue of Rajiv Gandhi was unveiled by CM Revanth Reddy in the presence of state ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, government advisors, Congress Party state in-charge Deepadas Munshi, Telangana PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, and other leaders.
CM Revanth Reddy highlighted how Rajiv Gandhi, through the 72nd and 73rd constitutional amendments, ensured direct funding to villages. He also credited Rajiv Gandhi for introducing the IT sector to India.
Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of sacrifice, recalling that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru gave up great wealth for the country and fought for freedom while keeping India united.
