Hyderabad, February ,16, 2025: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has criticized the Congress government for not acting against Andhra Pradesh’s alleged illegal diversion of Krishna River water.

He accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy of ignoring the issue while Andhra Pradesh continues to use Telangana’s water unchecked.
Harish Rao demanded urgent action from the government to stop Andhra Pradesh from diverting water through the Nagarjuna Sagar right canal. He claimed that 10,000 cusecs per day have been diverted for the past three months, totaling 646 TMC this year.
He expressed concern that if this continues, Telangana’s reservoirs will run dry, leading to a drinking water crisis in Hyderabad. He also criticized the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) for failing to hold its mandatory meetings and address the issue.
Harish Rao warned that if immediate action is not taken, Telangana’s farmers and citizens will suffer. He urged the Congress government to step up and protect the state’s water rights.
