Hyderabad, March,13,2026: Hyderabad traffic diversions will begin from March 13 near Ashok Nagar due to reconstruction work on the Hussain Sagar Surplus Nala Bridge. Authorities have advised motorists to plan travel in advance and use alternate routes.
The traffic restrictions are being implemented as officials begin dismantling and rebuilding the Hussain Sagar Surplus Nala Bridge at Arvind Nagar near Ashok Nagar. The work is expected to affect vehicle movement in nearby areas.
According to officials, congestion is likely between Pillar No.16 and Pillar No.17 under the Nayani Narasimha Reddy Steel Bridge during the construction period. Hyderabad traffic police have issued diversion routes to manage the flow of vehicles.
Vehicles except two wheelers travelling from Street No.9 in Himayathnagar towards Indira Park X Road will be diverted at Ashok Nagar X Road. From there, vehicles will move through Sub Registrar Office, Bakaram Bridge, LIC Colony, Bandamaisamma X Road and Darna Chowk Marg before reaching Indira Park X Road.
Similarly, vehicles travelling from RTC X Roads towards Indira Park X Road will also be diverted at Ashok Nagar X Road. They will follow the same alternate route via Sub Registrar Office, Bakaram Bridge, LIC Colony, Bandamaisamma X Road and Darna Chowk Marg.
Vehicles coming from Bakaram towards Indira Park X Road will be redirected at Bakaram Bridge. Drivers must take a right turn towards LIC Colony and continue through Bandamaisamma X Road and Darna Chowk Marg to reach Indira Park X Road.
Officials said the traffic restrictions apply only to vehicles other than two wheelers. Motorists have been requested to cooperate with traffic police and use the suggested routes to avoid delays.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance, especially during peak hours when traffic congestion may increase in the area.
Citizens facing travel emergencies can contact the Hyderabad Traffic Police helpline at 9010203626. Traffic updates will also be shared through official social media platforms.
The bridge reconstruction work is expected to require temporary traffic regulation in the surrounding areas while the project is underway.
