Hyderabad,March,08,2026:International Women’s Day celebrations were held at Kumuram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan in Banjara Hills. Telangana ministers Damodar Rajanarasimha and Seethakka launched several welfare initiatives during the event.
The programme focused on health, welfare and empowerment initiatives for women across the state.
As part of the event, the ministers formally launched a health initiative through Telangana Diagnostics to provide 30 types of health tests for members of Self Help Groups. The programme aims to improve access to medical screening services for women.
The ministers also inaugurated model rooms designed for breastfeeding mothers. These rooms are planned to be set up at bus stations and other crowded public areas to support mothers who need private spaces to feed infants.
Another key initiative launched during the event was a vaccination centre aimed at preventing cervical cancer. The centre will administer HPV vaccines to adolescent girls as an early preventive measure against the disease.
Ministers Seethakka and Damodar Rajanarasimha inaugurated the facilities by cutting the ribbon during the programme.
Women Development Corporation Chairperson Bandru Shobharani also participated in the event along with officials and other representatives.
The initiatives were launched as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations to strengthen health support systems and welfare services for women.
