At a campaign event in Nizamabad, Reddy responded to BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who questioned why the Congress government had not taken action against BRS leaders K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and his son K T Rama Rao (KTR) despite multiple investigations.

Reddy accused Sanjay Kumar of delaying the state’s request for a Red Corner Notice against two individuals involved in a phone-tapping case during the BRS rule. These individuals are currently in the US. He claimed this delay was part of a deal between the BJP and BRS for election support.

BJP Blocking Arrests and Development Projects?

Reddy further alleged that BJP leaders Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay were preventing the arrest of KCR, KTR, and former minister Harish Rao in the phone-tapping case. He also criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for not taking action against KTR in the Formula E racing and sheep distribution scams despite investigations.

Additionally, Reddy accused Union Minister Kishan Reddy of obstructing Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion and blocking funds for the Musi River redevelopment, while the BJP government funded similar projects in other states. He claimed BJP ministers privately admitted that Kishan Reddy was stopping approvals to prevent Congress from gaining popularity.

BRS Not Contesting, BJP vs. Congress

Reddy questioned why BRS was not contesting the three MLC seats if it wanted to challenge the Congress government. He highlighted his government’s welfare schemes like free bus travel for women, farm loan waivers, and caste surveys.

With BRS staying away, the MLC elections will be a direct contest between Congress and the BJP.
