Hyderabad,July,25,2025: The Government of Telangana has taken two significant administrative decisions today. First, it appointed senior IAS officers as special officers for 10 joint districts across the state. Second, it issued a fresh Government Order (G.O.Ms.No. 29) from the Higher Education Department, forming a committee to revise fee parameters for private unaided professional colleges.

Special Officers Appointed for 10 Joint Districts
To ensure smooth administration and better coordination in governance, the Telangana government has named the following IAS officers as special officers for their respective joint districts:
- Harikiran IAS – Joint Adilabad
- Sarfaraz Ahmed – Joint Karimnagar
- Anita Ramachandran IAS – Joint Nalgonda
- Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu IAS – Joint Nizamabad
- Divya IAS – Joint Ranga Reddy
- Ravi IAS – Joint Mahabubnagar
- Shashanka IAS – Joint Warangal
- A Sarath IAS – Joint Medak
- Surendra Mohan IAS – Joint Khammam
- Ilambarthi IAS – Hyderabad District
These appointments are aimed at strengthening governance at the district level and bringing efficient service delivery to the people.
New Committee Formed to Review College Fee Structure
In a parallel development, the Higher Education Department of Telangana has constituted a Committee of Officers through G.O.Ms.No. 29 dated July 25, 2025, to suggest revised parameters for fee fixation for private unaided professional colleges in the state for the 2025–2028 block period.
This move comes after the Telangana Admissions and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) raised concerns that the fee proposals submitted by several colleges did not match the legal and policy guidelines laid out by the Supreme Court and High Court.

The committee will study practices from other states and align Telangana’s fee policy with legal standards and educational benchmarks. The goal is to ensure a fair and transparent fee regulation framework for all stakeholders.
