Hyderabad, March,12,2026: Telangana school timings will change from March 16 as the School Education department announced half-day classes across the state due to increasing temperatures. The revised schedule will remain in effect until April 23.
Under the new arrangement, schools will function from 8 am to 12.30 pm. The decision applies to all schools in the state regardless of management.
The School Education department introduced the change as temperatures continue to rise across Telangana. The revised Telangana school timings are intended to ensure student safety during the hotter part of the day.
Government and local body schools will continue providing mid-day meals to students. Meals will be served around 12.30 pm, after which students will be sent home.
Schools that are designated as centres for the SSC Public Examinations will follow a different schedule during the exam period. In these institutions, classes will be conducted after the mid-day meal so that examination arrangements can be carried out smoothly.
SSC examinations will be held in the morning session. Schools serving as exam centres will operate from 1 pm to 5 pm during the examination period.
Once the SSC examinations conclude, these schools will return to the regular half-day schedule from 8 am to 12.30 pm, similar to other institutions in the state.
The department also announced the schedule for the upcoming summer break. Schools will close for summer vacation starting April 24.
The vacation will continue until June 11. Schools are scheduled to reopen for the new academic year 2026 to 27 on June 12.
The revised Telangana school timings will remain in place until April 23 unless further changes are announced by the School Education department.
