Khammam,March,12,2026: Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy distributed Velugumatla land pattas to eligible beneficiaries during a programme held at the Khammam Collectorate. The event focused on providing land titles and housing support to displaced families from Velugumatla.
During the programme, land and house site pattas were distributed to 311 poor beneficiaries from Velugumatla. In addition, 101 beneficiaries who already own house sites were approved to receive houses under the Indiramma housing scheme.
The distribution programme was organised at the Khammam Collectorate in the presence of officials and beneficiaries. The initiative aims to provide legal ownership of land and housing support to families affected by displacement in Velugumatla.
Speaking at the event, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government had fulfilled the promise made to Velugumatla land displaced families. He stated that the administration remains committed to ensuring justice for all eligible beneficiaries.
The minister also said that authorities would identify remaining eligible families who have not yet received benefits. He added that action would be taken to recover money from brokers who allegedly collected money from poor families.
According to the minister, the government will ensure that the recovered money is returned to those who were affected. He emphasized that strict measures would be taken against intermediaries who exploited beneficiaries.
The programme marked a significant step in addressing long pending land and housing issues faced by Velugumatla land displaced families. Officials distributed the pattas to beneficiaries as part of the government initiative to provide legal recognition of land ownership.
The Indiramma housing scheme component of the programme will help beneficiaries who already have house sites construct permanent houses. Under this support, 101 eligible individuals will receive assistance for building homes.
Officials said the process of identifying other eligible beneficiaries will continue. Authorities are expected to review remaining cases to ensure that all qualified families receive land pattas and housing benefits.
