Hyderabad.02.07.2024: In a significant update, the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has enforced a new regulation requiring all electricity consumers in Telangana to exclusively use the TGSPDCL website or mobile app for paying their current bills.
This announcement, shared through TGSPDCL’s official Twitter account, aligns with revised guidelines from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) starting July 01, 2024. As per these directives, third-party service providers such as PhonePe, Paytm, Amazon Pay, Google Pay, and various banks will no longer accept payments related to TGSPDCL bills.
This shift aims to centralize bill payment processes directly through TGSPDCL’s digital platforms, eliminating previous options such as physical office visits or payments through online service providers. With advancements in technology, consumers now have the convenience of managing their electricity bills from the comfort of their homes, ensuring seamless transactions through the TGSPDCL website or mobile app.
For those accustomed to alternative payment methods, this change underscores the necessity of adhering to the new RBI regulations and using TGSPDCL’s official channels exclusively for bill settlements. By streamlining payments directly through the utility’s own platforms, TGSPDCL aims to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, providing a more secure and controlled environment for financial transactions related to electricity consumption in Telangana.
