Three Teachers from Telangana Honored with National Teachers’ Award

Hyderabad.06.09.2024: On Teachers’ Day, three teachers from Telangana were honored with the National Teachers’ Award at a special function in New Delhi on Thursday.

The awardees include Prabhakar Reddy Pesara, a biology teacher from Zilla Parishad Secondary School (ZPSS) in Thirumalayapalem, Khammam; Thaduri Sampath Kumar, a physical science teacher from Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) in Dammannapet, Rajanna-Siricilla; and Dr. Mrudula Nandavaram, head of the Telugu department and associate professor at Government Degree College for Women in Begumpet. They received the awards from President Droupadi Murmu.

A total of 66 teachers from across India were recognized this year, with 50 from school education and 16 from higher education. The award includes a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, and a silver medal.

In addition, the State government presented State Teacher Awards to 150 teachers from different schools, colleges, and universities in Telangana.

At the event held at Ravindra Bharathi, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced free electricity for government educational institutions, benefiting 27,862 government schools in the State. He also mentioned that 11,062 teacher vacancies had been notified, with an additional 6,000 vacancies soon to be announced.
