According to the ministry, the last date for submitting nominations is 31 July. The awards will be announced on the occasion of Republic Day next year.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said nominations and recommendations will only be accepted online through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal. Citizens can submit nominations, including self nominations, for individuals who have made distinguished contributions in their respective fields.

The ministry stated that all persons are eligible for the awards without distinction of race, occupation, position or gender. However, government servants, including those working in public sector undertakings, are generally not eligible for the awards.

Doctors and scientists working in government service are exempted from this restriction and can be considered for the honours.

The government has encouraged citizens to actively participate in the nomination process by recommending deserving individuals who have made significant contributions to society.

After the nomination process closes on 31 July, the submissions will be reviewed through the official selection process. The final list of awardees will be announced on Republic Day next year.
