Peddapalli,March,18,2026: Ugadi celebrations were held in advance at Gayatri Vidyaniketan in Peddapalli district on Wednesday. The school organised cultural and educational activities to mark the upcoming Telugu New Year festival.
The Ugadi celebrations at Gayatri Vidyaniketan brought together students and teachers to learn about the cultural significance of the festival and participate in traditional activities.
According to school representatives, the programme was conducted to help students understand the importance of Ugadi and the traditions associated with the Telugu New Year. Teachers explained the meaning of Ugadi and its role as the beginning of a new year in the Telugu calendar.
During the session, educators spoke about how Ugadi marks the start of a new cycle in nature and time. They explained the festival in a simple manner so that students could easily understand its cultural and seasonal significance.
Teachers also explained the importance of Ugadi Pachadi, a traditional dish prepared during the festival. They described how the ingredients in Ugadi Pachadi symbolise different experiences in life such as happiness, sadness, anger and surprise.
As part of the activity, students prepared Ugadi Pachadi themselves under the guidance of teachers. The dish was later distributed among students and staff during the celebration.
The cultural segment of the event featured dance performances by students. Children presented dances to Ugadi songs and devotional music, which were appreciated by the audience present at the programme.
The event was attended by Gayatri Vidyaniketan chairman Srinivas, correspondent Rajini and members of the teaching staff. Teachers and school management participated in the programme along with students.
The advance celebration was organised to introduce students to the traditions of the Ugadi festival and encourage cultural awareness among them.
