Hyderabad,March,25,2026: The Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association clarified on 25 March 2026 that there is no fuel shortage in Telangana. The association urged people not to believe rumours and avoid panic buying at fuel stations.

The Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association stated that petrol and diesel supply across the state has not been disrupted. However, long queues were seen at fuel stations due to false information circulating on social media.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the association said people were buying more fuel than required due to panic created by rumours. This led to inconvenience for motorists and created a shortage like situation at some fuel stations.

The association’s state general secretary Surabhi Sharath Kumar said oil companies are working continuously to ensure sufficient supply of petrol and diesel across Telangana. He requested customers not to believe fake news and rumours circulating on platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook.

The association also said some companies had temporarily stopped credit facilities to traders, which contributed to the situation. Dealers are coordinating with oil companies to maintain regular supply and prevent artificial shortages.

Officials also warned the public not to store petrol or diesel in plastic cans. They said storing fuel in plastic containers is illegal and can lead to fire accidents and safety risks.

Meanwhile, Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association president M Amarender Reddy also clarified that the fuel shortage rumours are not true and asked people not to engage in panic buying.

The association said efforts are being made to ensure smooth fuel distribution across the state and requested the public to purchase fuel only as needed.
