New Delhi,April 02,2026: The ranbir kapoor ramayana teaser was unveiled on April 2, 2026, offering the first glimpse of the actor as Lord Rama. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is produced by Namit Malhotra and features a star-studded cast.
The teaser was released on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti and presents a grand visual introduction to the film. It opens with wide battlefield scenes before showing Rama standing against the rising sun, followed by visuals of people showering flowers as he walks.
Ranbir Kapoor appears in traditional attire with gold ornaments and a calm expression. The teaser ends with a glimpse of Ravana, played by Yash, walking towards the Pushpak Vimana, hinting at the scale of the story.
Sharing the teaser, the makers described Rama as a symbol of duty, sacrifice, and choices made for the greater good. They highlighted how his legacy continues to inspire belief in the goodness of humanity.
Ranbir Kapoor, in an official statement, said he approached the role with humility. He stated that he is not representing Rama but learning from the character, calling the experience deeply meaningful.
Director Nitesh Tiwari said the film focuses on the emotional depth of the story. He explained that Ramayana is not just about good and evil but about choices and their consequences, with a human perspective at its core.
The film also stars Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, and Ravi Dubey in key roles. The music is composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, with lyrics by Kumar Vishwas. The screenplay is written by Sridhar Raghavan.
Ramayana is produced by Prime Focus Studios along with DNEG and Monster Mind Creations. It is planned as a two-part film series.
The first part is scheduled for release during Diwali 2026, with the second part expected to arrive in 2027.
