Ahmedabad, April 30, 2026: venkatesh iyer has completed 1,500 runs in the Indian Premier League during the 2026 season. He reached the milestone while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Gujarat Titans on April 30.
The all-rounder achieved the landmark with his third run of the match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Known for his aggressive batting in T20 cricket, he added another milestone to his IPL career.
In the match, Venkatesh was sent in at number nine with his team struggling at 126 for 7. The situation worsened to 126 for 8 before he stitched a 29-run partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar off 30 balls. He scored 12 runs from 15 deliveries.
Venkatesh began his IPL journey in 2021 with Kolkata Knight Riders. He impressed in his debut season, scoring 370 runs in 10 matches as the team finished runners-up. His performance dipped in the following season but he bounced back strongly in 2023.
In that season, he scored 404 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 145.84. After being released by Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed him for seven crore rupees ahead of the current season.
Overall, Venkatesh has scored 1,509 runs in 64 IPL matches. Across 58 innings, he averages 30.18 and has a strike rate of 137.30. His record includes one century and 12 half-centuries.
The latest milestone highlights his contribution across multiple seasons despite limited appearances in the ongoing edition.
With the tournament continuing, Venkatesh will look to add more runs and improve his record in the remaining matches of IPL 2026.
