Skoda Slavia facelift has been unveiled in India with revised styling, additional features and a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI engine. The update comes as Skoda continues to invest in sedans despite SUVs accounting for more than 60% of India’s passenger-vehicle market, according to The Hindu.
The facelifted Slavia receives redesigned LED lighting, a revised bumper, new alloy wheels and updated detailing at the rear. Skoda has also added several comfort and convenience features, including rear-seat massage functionality and a 360-degree camera. 0
What has changed on the Slavia facelift?
The exterior changes are concentrated mainly at the front. The updated sedan gets redesigned LED headlamps and daytime running lights integrated into the grille, along with a revised bumper and LED fog lamps. New 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels have also been introduced.
At the rear, the changes are more subtle, with revised positioning of the Skoda lettering and updated bumper detailing. The overall silhouette remains similar to the outgoing model.
New features focus on comfort and technology
The interior design remains largely familiar, but Skoda has added several new features. These include an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system with an AI assistant, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
Higher variants also get power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, while rear passengers gain a massage function. The facelift additionally introduces a 360-degree camera and front parking sensors.

Engine and gearbox options
The Slavia facelift continues with the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0 TSI produces 115 PS and 178 Nm, while the 1.5 TSI develops 150 PS and 250 Nm.
| Engine | Power | Torque | Transmission |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0 TSI | 115 PS | 178 Nm | 6-speed manual / 8-speed automatic |
| 1.5 TSI | 150 PS | 250 Nm | 7-speed DSG |
The biggest mechanical change is the introduction of the new 8-speed torque-converter automatic with the 1.0 TSI engine. The 1.5 TSI continues with the 7-speed DSG gearbox.
Skoda continues to back the sedan
The Slavia facelift arrives at a time when Indian buyers are increasingly choosing SUVs. The Hindu reported that SUVs now account for more than 60% of passenger vehicles in India. Despite this shift, Skoda says there remains a customer base for sedans, and the company is continuing its sedan strategy with the Slavia, Octavia RS and the planned return of the Superb.
The Slavia competes with models such as the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus and Honda City. The facelift gives Skoda’s sedan additional equipment and a new automatic transmission while retaining its existing turbo-petrol powertrain lineup.
Price and launch
The facelift has been unveiled, while the final prices and variant-wise details are being awaited. Current industry reports place the expected price range around the existing Slavia’s positioning, with the facelift expected to compete directly with the Verna, Virtus and City.
With more technology, additional rear-seat comfort features and a new 8-speed automatic option, the Slavia facelift represents Skoda’s latest attempt to keep its sedan offering relevant in India’s increasingly SUV-focused market.
