HYDERABAD.07.10.2024: Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy revealed on Sunday that land titles (pattas) were issued for around 1,300 acres of non-existent land in Tirumalagiri mandal, Nagarjunasagar constituency. This discovery came after a survey of 4,380 acres of land, where they identified excess pass books for 1,300 acres.

During a meeting with deputy collectors, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy stated that the government will soon introduce a new Record of Rights (RoR) Act to address problems faced by people under the previous administration. He promised that reforms in the revenue system will restore people’s confidence and provide security.

He also mentioned that the government plans to revive the village revenue officer system and will make a final decision before implementing the new RoR Act.

In addition, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy assured the promotion of 17 deputy collectors to IAS ranks and the creation of 33 special deputy grade collector positions. He also committed to resolving issues faced by the deputy collectors soon.
