Hyderabad.25.10.2024: Telangana is poised to achieve its highest-ever paddy yield this year, with an estimated production of 150 lakh metric tonnes. This impressive milestone reflects Telangana’s paddy yield potential, bolstered by favorable climate conditions and effective government initiatives.
According to Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, the state’s paddy production has been steadily increasing, and this year’s yield is expected to surpass all previous records. The government has allocated Rs 20,000 crore for paddy procurement, ensuring that farmers receive fair prices for their produce.
To address concerns of rice millers, a cabinet sub-committee was formed to resolve issues related to paddy procurement. The committee has decided not to allocate paddy from the current Kharif season to millers who have not returned the milled rice from the previous season.
