New Delhi.21.01.2025: Major encounter took place on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, resulting in the death of 16 Maoists. Security forces reported that 14 Maoists were killed during the operation, with two more shot dead in a separate encounter yesterday. Police and CRPF personnel are continuing to search the area, and officials believe more bodies may be found.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to the encounter, stating that it is a significant step towards a Maoist-free India. He praised the security forces for their victory and noted that Naxalism remains a serious issue in the country. Shah emphasized the joint efforts of forces from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and the CRPF in this operation, expressing confidence that the country will eventually be free from Naxalism.
