New Delhi.23.04.2025: During the JD Vance India visit, the US Vice-President praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared a heartwarming story about his family’s dinner at the Prime Minister’s residence. JD Vance said his seven-year-old son, Ewan, enjoyed the evening so much that he told his father, “Maybe I can live in India.”

JD Vance arrived in India on Monday evening with his wife Usha Vance and their three children for a four-day official visit. Speaking at an event in Jaipur, he talked about how kind Prime Minister Modi was to his children and how good the food was at the dinner hosted at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi.
Vance said, “After dinner, my son Ewan told me maybe he wants to live in India. But after spending 90 minutes in the Jaipur sun, he changed his mind and suggested we move to England,” he joked, making the audience laugh.
He also recalled his earlier meeting with PM Modi at the AI Action Summit in Paris this February. At that time, Modi surprised their family by celebrating his younger son Vivek’s fifth birthday, personally bringing him a gift.
JD Vance said he and his wife were touched by Modi’s kindness and have been even more impressed by his warmth since arriving in India. He highlighted how his children, known for being honest, have only connected well with two world leaders — former President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Modi.
Vance praised Modi as a serious leader, saying, “He thinks about India’s future, not just during his time in office, but for the next hundred years.”
The JD Vance India visit also included sightseeing in Jaipur, with the family visiting the famous Amer Fort, a UNESCO world heritage site.
