Amaravathi, March,10,2026: The off day school time table 2026 will take effect across Andhra Pradesh starting March 16 as authorities introduce half-day classes due to rising temperatures. The revised schedule will apply to both government and private schools across the state.
Under the new timings, schools will operate from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Students will be served lunch at 12:30 pm before leaving for home.
The state education department introduced the change after temperatures began increasing following Shivaratri. With reduced cloud cover and stronger sunlight, officials decided to shorten school hours to protect students from the intense heat.
According to the new schedule, morning classes will be conducted between 8:00 am and 12:30 pm. After classes conclude, students will be given lunch before returning home for the day.
However, schools that are designated as Class 10 examination centres will follow a different schedule. Classes at these institutions will be held from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Parents have been advised to stay in contact with teachers and school authorities to understand the exact arrangements for each class.
The implementation of the off day school time table 2026 coincides with the upcoming Class 10 public examinations in Andhra Pradesh.
The Secondary School Certificate examinations are scheduled to take place from March 16 to April 1. Each exam will be conducted between 9:30 am and 12:45 pm. Around 6.5 lakh students across the state are expected to appear for the exams this year.
The exam schedule includes First Language on March 16, Second Language on March 18, English on March 20, Mathematics on March 23, Physics on March 25, Biology on March 28, and Social Studies on March 30. First Language Paper 2 will be conducted on March 31, followed by OSSC Second Language Paper 2 on April 1.
Students must score at least 33 percent marks to pass the examination. The results will include both marks and grades. Students scoring 91 marks and above will receive an A1 grade, while scores between 81 and 90 will be awarded A2. Marks between 71 and 80 will receive a B1 grade, and those scoring between 61 and 70 will receive a C grade.
Officials have also advised parents to ensure that children stay hydrated during the summer season. The off day school time table 2026 aims to help students continue their studies safely during the period of high temperatures.
