29-year-old woman retires to become a farmer

Her journey has gained wider interest after she shared a four-step plan explaining how she is building what she describes as a peaceful life centred on farming, food security and nature.

Choosing a Different Path at 29

Sneha Rajguru decided to step away from her corporate job and move away from the fast-paced city lifestyle. Instead of following the conventional path of working until the traditional retirement age, she chose to focus on creating a life that offered greater personal freedom and satisfaction.

She shared her approach in a video on social media ( baapbetifarm ), where she described retirement as a decision to move away from stress rather than simply reaching a certain age.

Step One: Buying Land

The first step in her plan was purchasing farmland and creating a space of her own. Rajguru believes having land provides greater independence and allows a person to build a lifestyle based on personal choices rather than depending entirely on employment.

Her farming initiative, called BaapBeti Farm, has become a central part of her new lifestyle.

Step Two: Growing Fruit Trees

The second stage involved planting fruit trees. According to her approach, fruit trees can grow over time and continue producing food for years once they are established.

The idea is to create a long-term food source while gradually developing a more sustainable lifestyle.

Step Three: Producing Food at Home

The third part of her plan focuses on growing food needed by the family. She connects this with the idea of food security and reducing dependence on outside systems during difficult situations.

By producing some food independently, she believes families can become more self-reliant.

Step Four: Growing Flowers for Happiness

The final stage is planting flowers and creating a pleasant natural environment. While farming provides food, she believes flowers and greenery can contribute to a more peaceful and enjoyable living space.

Rajguru’s story reflects a growing interest among some young professionals in alternative lifestyles that prioritise personal well-being, sustainability and independence. However, such a lifestyle requires careful financial planning, access to land and a reliable long-term source of income.

For Rajguru, retirement does not simply mean stopping work at a particular age. Her approach is based on choosing a life that she considers more satisfying and peaceful than the corporate career she left behind.
