Apple released iOS 26.4 on March 26, 2026, including 37 security fixes, bug fixes, and new features. The update also improves system performance and fixes keyboard and interface issues reported by users.

According to Apple, several vulnerabilities were fixed in WebKit, the browser engine used by Safari. One of the flaws could allow cross-site scripting attacks if a user visited a malicious website. Another vulnerability could allow malicious web content to bypass security policies.

The update also includes fixes to kernel issues in the operating system. Security experts said these vulnerabilities could allow attackers to gain full control of the system or cause unexpected system crashes.

Security experts advised users and organizations to install the update without delay to improve device security and reduce risks from potential attacks.

In addition to security fixes, the update includes bug fixes such as improvements to keyboard performance, smoother app navigation, and interface fixes. Some users reported better performance after installing the update, while others mentioned minor new bugs.

Apple also enabled Stolen Device Protection by default in iOS 26.4. This feature helps protect personal data if an iPhone is stolen by adding additional security checks before changing important settings.

The update also introduces age verification features for users in the United Kingdom to access certain services. Apple stated that ID or credit card verification may be used to confirm age, and personal documents will not be stored unless users choose to save them.

Apple released several other updates alongside iOS 26.4, including updates for macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and Safari. Older iPhones also received a separate iOS update with security fixes.

Apple said the iOS 26.4 update is available for iPhone 11 and later models, along with supported iPads. Users can install the update by going to Settings, then General, and Software Update.
