Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has unveiled its much-awaited trailer, offering a glimpse into the film’s dark world of crime, romance and intense action. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is scheduled to release worldwide on August 26, 2026.
The trailer, released on August 8, introduces Yash in a striking and violent avatar as the story moves between emotional drama and gangster action. The film also presents Yash in a dual role, with the two characters appearing to be on opposing sides as the conflict develops.
The nearly five-minute trailer features elaborate action sequences, a crime backdrop and visually distinctive circus settings. Yash’s character is shown confronting powerful gangsters while the trailer also introduces the second character, setting up a confrontation between the two.
The film features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The project is produced by KVN Productions in association with Monster Mind Creations.
Geetu Mohandas has directed the film, with Rajeev Ravi serving as cinematographer and Ravi Basrur composing the music. The action choreography includes work by international stunt professionals alongside Indian action teams.
The trailer follows the release of two songs from the film, ‘Tabaahi’ and ‘Manamohaka’, which have already offered glimpses of its romantic and dramatic elements.
Yash has previously described ‘Toxic’ as a film that explores psychology and human life rather than being a conventional action drama. The actor is returning to theatres after the success of KGF: Chapter 2, which was released in 2022.
The film has faced multiple postponements. It was initially scheduled for March 19, 2026, before being moved, and was subsequently shifted to August 26 as the makers worked on aligning global distribution plans.
With the trailer now released, attention will turn to the film’s theatrical opening and how audiences respond to Yash’s unusual dual-role performance when Toxic reaches cinemas on August 26.
