Mumbai,May 03,2026: Arjun Tendulkar IPL 2026 news: Arjun Tendulkar secured a major contract in the Mumbai T20 League auction held on May 2. The all-rounder was picked by ARCS Andheri for Rs 10 lakh, marking a significant increase in his earnings.
Despite limited opportunities in the ongoing IPL 2026 season with Lucknow Super Giants, Arjun Tendulkar attracted strong bidding interest in the Mumbai T20 League. The 26-year-old was bought at a base price of Rs 10 lakh, which is 400 percent higher than his earlier valuation of Rs 2 lakh.
The development highlights a notable shift in Tendulkar’s career, as he gains a fresh platform in his home city. His growing popularity and consistent presence in domestic cricket contributed to the strong demand during the auction.
An official statement said that ARCS Andheri secured Arjun Tendulkar for Rs 10 lakh, while 16-year-old Ira Jadhav was also picked by Aakash Tigers at the same price during the auction.
The auction included both men’s and women’s categories, with the women’s auction held first. A total of 363 women players went under the hammer, and three franchises spent Rs 1.47 crore to build squads of 50 players.
Several prominent Indian players have also been retained as icon players by their respective franchises. These include Suryakumar Yadav for Triumph Knights Mumbai North East, Shreyas Iyer for SoBo Mumbai Falcons, and Ajinkya Rahane for North Mumbai Panthers.
Other notable players in the league include Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur, Sarfaraz Khan, and Tushar Deshpande, who are set to participate in the upcoming tournament.
Arjun Tendulkar has represented Goa in domestic cricket over the past few seasons. As he had not featured in any state association T20 tournaments in the last 12 months, he received approval from the BCCI to participate in the auction and the league.
The Mumbai T20 League is scheduled to take place after the conclusion of IPL 2026. Arjun Tendulkar is expected to make his debut in the competition following his successful inclusion in the auction.
