Bhadrachalam,April 10,2026: The Bhadrachalam five villages merger issue has gained momentum again as Telangana Employees JAC prepares for a major meeting. An all-party conference is scheduled to be held on April 13 in Bhadrachalam.

Bhadrachalam five villages merger issue

Leaders from various political parties, employees, and public organizations are mobilizing support to demand the merger of five gram panchayats back into Telangana. The initiative is being led by the Telangana Employees JAC under a structured protest plan.

The villages in focus include Yetapaka, Pichukalapadu, Kannayagudem, Purushottapatnam, and Gundala. These villages were merged into Andhra Pradesh during state bifurcation. Residents have reportedly been facing administrative and infrastructural challenges due to their border location.

According to leaders, the aim of the movement is to reintegrate these villages into Telangana. They stated that the issue has persisted since the formation of the two states, with several protests and demonstrations held in the past.

Bhadrachalam MLA Dr Tellam Venkata Rao said that development of the region would be possible only if the five villages are merged back into Telangana. He added that he would discuss the matter with the chief ministers of both states to find a resolution.

Telangana Employees JAC Secretary General and State Gazetted Officers Union President Eluri Srinivasa Rao said that a clear action plan has been prepared. He noted that the movement could be intensified if required, drawing inspiration from the Telangana statehood movement.

A large public meeting is planned on April 13 in Bhadrachalam. Leaders have called upon employees, political parties, students, and civil society groups to participate and make the event successful.

The demand to merge the five villages into Telangana has been ongoing since state bifurcation. Residents continue to raise concerns about governance issues and lack of basic facilities.

The upcoming all-party meeting is expected to finalize further steps in the protest movement and strengthen the demand for resolution of the issue.
