Hyderabad,April 12,2026: HYDRAA Telangana carried out a major enforcement drive in Ameenpur, Sangareddy district, reclaiming 861 acres of government land on April 11. Officials said the operation was conducted under court directions to preserve the disputed land until final legal resolution.
According to authorities, the reclaimed land is valued at more than Rs 15,000 crore. The drive was led by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency in coordination with revenue, municipal and police departments.
Officials stated that the operation targeted only vacant government land and did not affect houses already built by poor and middle-class families. Public announcements were made during the drive to reassure residents that genuine occupants would not be disturbed.
HYDRAA said several unauthorised structures were demolished during the operation. These included a guest house and farmhouse complex allegedly linked to MA Mukheem across nearly 40 acres in Iylapur village of Ameenpur mandal.
A six-storey apartment building allegedly constructed by Mukheem’s brother MA Azeem over 2.2 acres was also demolished. Officials said the guest house had luxury facilities including a swimming pool, horse stables and ancillary buildings.
According to HYDRAA, the Andhra Pradesh High Court had ruled in 1998 that no construction should take place on the land. Authorities alleged that despite court orders, constructions and plot sales continued in the disputed area.
Officials said the entire reclaimed stretch has now been fenced to prevent fresh encroachments. The operation was carried out in the presence of revenue and municipal officers to ensure transparency.
Historical records cited by authorities show the land spans 1,263 acres in Survey Numbers 1 to 220 of Iylapur village and was originally under the Nizam’s administration before being recorded as government land after integration.
However, ownership disputes remain pending before the High Court, with several writ appeals and civil suits still under adjudication. HYDRAA said the latest action was taken following reports from the Ameenpur Tahsildar and in compliance with court instructions.
Officials said the crackdown is intended to stop further illegal transactions and maintain the status quo on the disputed land until the courts issue a final verdict.
