Hyderabad, March,10,2026 : Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha conducted a surprise inspection at Ananya Resort at Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park after complaints were received regarding irregularities in its management. The minister visited the resort along with forest department officials and reviewed the facilities provided to visitors.
During the inspection, the minister expressed concern that even basic facilities were not being properly provided to visitors at the resort. She observed poor maintenance in several areas including toilets, the swimming pool, cottages, and the kitchen.
According to the minister, the conditions at the resort could create difficulties for tourists and families visiting the park. She noted that the resort had been leased to a private company for the past ten years, but the company had failed to follow several government rules and regulations during its management period.
Officials also found that the resort had reportedly paid taxes to the government only once during this period. The inspection further revealed that bookings were allegedly being made without issuing proper bills to visitors.
Konda Surekha stated that such practices could result in significant revenue loss for the government. She said that operating bookings without bills and concealing government revenue would be treated as a serious violation.
Following these findings, the minister instructed officials to take steps to cancel the lease agreement with the private company within the next two months. She directed the forest department to take complete control of the resort’s management.
After taking over the facility, the government plans to develop the area under the forest department and improve it according to eco tourism standards. The minister said better facilities would be created for visitors in the future.
Konda Surekha also warned that strict action would be taken against those who violate regulations in forest areas.
Chief Conservator of Forests Priyanka Varghese, Rangareddy DFO Rohith Gopidi, FDO Venkataiah, and FRO Sai Prakash were present during the inspection.
