Kothagudem Police Bridge Construction to Improve Rural Connectivity

Kothagudem district police have taken up an important infrastructure initiative by starting the Kothagudem police bridge construction between Vaddipet and Pusuguppa villages in Cherla mandal.

The bridge is aimed at helping adivasis and residents living in interior agency areas who face daily difficulties due to poor road access and seasonal disruptions.

Officials said the project, estimated at Rs 4.50 crore, will provide safe and smooth transportation, especially during monsoon months when streams overflow and cut off villages.

Project Highlights

  • Bridge between Vaddipet and Pusuguppa villages
  • Total cost: Rs 4.50 crore
  • Focus on agency and tribal areas
  • Improved transport and emergency access
  • Faster connectivity to nearby towns

SP Rohith Raju Inspects Bridge Work

Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju personally inspected the Kothagudem police bridge construction site on Friday to review progress.

During the visit, he interacted with officials and engineers and directed them to speed up the work so that the bridge can be completed at the earliest.

The SP emphasized that better infrastructure is essential for improving the lives of people in remote areas and assured full support from the police department.

Local residents welcomed the inspection and expressed hope that the bridge would solve long-standing travel issues.

Police Support Sports Development in Cherla

Earlier in the day, the district police also focused on youth development initiatives. SP Rohith Raju, along with District Collector Jitesh V Patil, inaugurated the CM Cup tournament at a newly built sports ground in Cherla.

The ground was developed by Cherla police using Special Central Assistance (SCA) funds at a cost of Rs 75 lakh on the outskirts of Pujarigudem.

The facility is expected to encourage sports and create opportunities for young talent in tribal and rural regions.

Youth From Three Mandals Participate

Young players from Bhadrachalam, Dummugudem, and Cherla mandals are participating in the tournament.

Collector Patil said such competitions give rural youth a platform to showcase their abilities and build confidence.

He added that several players from these mandals have already performed well at state, national, and even international levels. More talent is expected to emerge with better facilities.

The SP assured that the police department would continue supporting young people in sports, education, and other activities that promote growth and development.

Infrastructure and Welfare Go Hand in Hand

Officials believe projects like the Kothagudem police bridge construction and the sports ground show a balanced approach towards both infrastructure and social development.

While the bridge improves connectivity and safety, the sports ground provides opportunities for physical fitness and career growth for youth.

Together, these efforts are expected to strengthen the overall development of Cherla mandal and nearby agency villages.

Residents said the new bridge would reduce travel time to markets, hospitals, and schools. It will also help during emergencies when quick transportation is needed.

With the Kothagudem police bridge construction progressing steadily, authorities are confident that the project will soon bring long-term benefits to thousands of people in the region.

Conclusion

The Kothagudem police bridge construction marks a significant step toward improving living conditions for adivasis in Cherla mandal. Combined with youth-focused initiatives like the CM Cup sports ground, the district police are playing an active role beyond law enforcement.

Once completed, the bridge is expected to transform daily life, making travel safer, faster, and more reliable for remote communities.
