Hyderabad, March,03,2026: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed district collectors to ensure the successful implementation of the Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika programme across Telangana.
He issued detailed instructions during a meeting with collectors at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat ahead of the 99-day initiative scheduled from March 6 to June 12.
The Chief Minister said the three-month period would serve as a benchmark for the performance of district collectors and shape their service careers. He stated that collectors must act as a bridge between the government and the people.
He instructed collectors to spend at least 10 days every month in field visits to better understand public issues. He also directed the Chief Secretary to regularly review collectors’ performance and submit reports.
The government will assess performance through annual reports and conduct another review meeting in June, he said.
Collectors were asked to implement the 99-day action plan in coordination with sarpanches, municipal chairpersons, mayors, MLAs, MLCs and MPs. A one-day special training programme for newly elected public representatives will be held at district headquarters on March 12.
The Chief Minister directed that a senior IAS officer be appointed as a nodal officer for each district. He also instructed officials to organise Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2 in a grand manner.
During village and ward meetings, officials were asked to inform people about welfare schemes including new ration cards, fine rice supply, Indiramma houses, free electricity up to 200 units, loan waivers, free bus travel and LPG cylinders at Rs 500.
He ordered that beneficiary identification for all schemes be completed and ensured that only eligible persons receive benefits. Ineligible beneficiaries must be removed after verification, he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state has 26,000 government schools and directed that one official be assigned to monitor the midday meal programme in each school. Collectors were told to visit schools at least once a week and review the meals.
He instructed officials to ensure that textbooks and uniforms are ready for distribution on June 12, the first day of the new academic year.
Collectors were also told to conduct regular inspections of government hospitals and address issues before they escalate. The Chief Minister warned that negligence would not be tolerated.
He directed officials to recover paddy stocks from millers, take strict action against illegal sand mining, and conduct a full audit of outsourcing appointments.
Applications under the Bhu Bharati initiative must be cleared within deadlines and land acquisition for major projects should be expedited, he said, adding that collectors must actively participate in implementing the Telangana Rising Vision.
