The Board, which includes government officials and leading entrepreneurs, discussed the progress of the University. CM Reddy assured that the state government would allocate ₹100 crore to help manage the University smoothly.

An official statement from the meeting provided more details about the University’s upcoming courses. The Skill University will begin operations this academic year with 2,000 students. The number of students will increase in the following year once the main campus, planned at the net-zero fourth city in Muchintal, is built. Until then, the University will function from the Engineering Staff College of India campus.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, will serve as the Chairman of the University.

Earlier, when the Skill University was proposed, it was announced that the University would be modeled after the International School of Business (ISB). It will follow a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with a main campus in Hyderabad and additional branches (spokes) in district headquarters across Telangana.

Industry leaders will play a key role in developing the curriculum, assessing job market needs, providing skill training, and offering internships. A fund will be created through corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions from businesses, with the Department of Industries acting as the coordinating body for the University.
