The Telangana High Court has declared August 27, 2026, a special holiday for the High Court and several judicial institutions under its administrative control. The holiday will also apply to the district judiciary, tribunals and labour courts across Telangana.
According to an official press release issued by the High Court, Thursday, August 27, will be observed as a special holiday for the High Court for the State of Telangana. The order also covers the Telangana State Judicial Academy, Telangana State Legal Services Authority, High Court Legal Services Committee and High Court Arbitration and Mediation Centre.
The High Court said the special holiday decision will also extend to the district judiciary in Telangana, including all tribunals and labour courts in the State. As a result, regular court functioning at the covered institutions will remain suspended on August 27.
To compensate for the additional holiday, the High Court has declared Saturday, December 19, 2026, as a working Saturday. The High Court of Telangana will function on that day as part of the revised court working schedule.
The official announcement clarifies that the special holiday applies specifically to judicial institutions functioning under the administrative control of the Telangana High Court. Litigants, advocates and other court users are expected to plan their court-related work accordingly.
“December 19, 2026, is declared as a court working Saturday for the High Court of Telangana,” the official announcement said.
The decision is important for advocates, litigants and employees connected with the State’s judicial system, as cases and other court-related work scheduled for August 27 may be affected by the special holiday. Further information regarding the listing or rescheduling of specific cases will depend on directions issued by the concerned courts.
The revised working schedule now provides for a special holiday across the Telangana judicial system on August 27, followed by a working Saturday on December 19.
