The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Hyderabad centre has issued a heavy rainfall warning for 12 districts in Telangana on July 22, forecasting rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm in the affected areas.
According to the alert, districts likely to receive heavy rain include Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and Mulugu. The weather department noted that rain activity is expected to continue across the state through the week.
Light to Moderate Rain Expected Statewide
Beyond the districts under heavy rain warning, the IMD said Telangana as a whole can expect light to moderate rainfall this week, with isolated thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.

- Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.
- Residents in low-lying areas are advised to stay alert.
- Farmers are encouraged to follow guidance from the local agriculture department.
- People are advised not to stand near trees or electric poles during thunderstorms.
